NEW YORK, June 9, 2015 - NBC Sports Radio’s Jason Page, host of Up Late with Jason Page (M-F, 1-6 am ET) will be at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Connecticut on Tuesday, June 23rd as the Bridgeport Bluefish host “LGBTQ Night.” Page will throw out the first pitch before the game and will be interacting with fans on the concourse throughout the game.
“It’s an honor for me to take part in this special night for the Bridgeport Bluefish and the Atlantic League,” said Page. “It’s amazing to see how far the LGBTQ community has come over the last several years in garnering the support of the professional sports world. Just four years ago, someone told me I was making a huge mistake by disclosing my sexual orientation publicly. Those people couldn’t have been more wrong. And I’m proud to represent NBC Sports Radio for this amazing occasion. I’m getting my right arm loosened up to throw a heater at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport on the 23rd."
Page, born and raised in Connecticut, previously worked for the Newark Bears, a former Atlantic League team, as a play-by-play announcer. In addition to his show on NBC Sports Radio and on SiriusXM Radio, he is contributing sports commentator for MSNBC. Page came out as openly gay in 2011.
Game time will be at 7:05 pm, with the Ballpark gates opening at 6:05 p.m. Tickets are available by clicking HERE, calling 203-210-BLUE, or visiting the Bluefish Box Office at Harbor Yard.
