Network Celebrates the AMAs with Special Programming, Radio Row, and More
NEW YORK, November 15, 2016 — Westwood One, the national radio partner for the American Music Awards, will be providing special curated content for listeners throughout awards weekend. Westwood One Backstage Live at the AMAs will feature three days of special programming, including exclusive backstage live performances with Republic Records recording artist Maty Noyes performing Friday November 18; Radio Row on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19, from 12 noon-4 pm PT; Z Entertainment/Sony artist Aaron Carter and Friends closing out Radio Row with a performance Saturday November 19; and a broadcast companion show on Sunday, March 20.
More than 20 radio stations from around the country, plus Westwood One’s national Zach Sang Show and The Adam Bomb Show, will broadcast remotely from backstage on Microsoft Theater’s event deck, aggregating audio, video, and social media content to share with listeners nationwide. American singer Maty Noyes will perform live on Friday, November 18, from 4-5 pm ET at Westwood One’s Backstage Live. On Saturday, November 19, pop singer Aaron Carter and Friends will perform from 4-5 pm.
In preparation for awards weekend, Westwood One ran a two-hour AMA Nomination Special during the weekend of November 12-13 with versions for Top 40/Rhythmic, hosted by Kerri Kasem; Hot AC/AC, hosted by Kasem; and Urban/Urban AC, hosted by La Loca and Marc Clarke from Cumulus’ 103.9 WNBM-FM/NY. On the night of the American Music Awards, Sunday, November 20, Westwood One will air a three-hour broadcast companion show from 8-11 pm ET and a one-our winner’s wrap-up from 11 pm – Midnight, ET, with a Top 40/Rhythmic version hosted by Zach Sang; a Hot AC/AC version with Adam Bomb and The Bert Show’s Kristin Klingshirn; and an Urban/Urban AC version hosted by La Loca and Marc Clarke.

Supermodel Gigi Hadid and actor/comedian Jay Pharoah will co-host the 2016 American Music Awards, the world’s biggest fan-voted award show, which will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20, at 8 pm ET on ABC. Lighting up the AMA stage will be Niall Horan, James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots, The Weeknd, special duets from The Chainsmokers and Halsey, Ariana Grande featuring Nicki Minaj, and “The American Music Award of Merit” honoree and performer Sting.
