Ross to Continue Guest-Hosting “The Osgood File”

NEW YORK, NY – January 3, 2017 – Westwood One celebrates the 25th anniversary of The Dave Ross Show and extends its relationship with Dave Ross, morning news host at KIRO-FM, Seattle. This year marks the 25th year that Westwood One has produced and distributed the weekday feature, heard on more than 200 stations nationwide — including WCBS-AM/New York, KNX-AM/Los Angeles, WBBM-AM/Chicago, WTOP-FM/Washington, DC, WWL-AM/New Orleans, and more. In addition to his Westwood One daily commentary, Ross also guest hosts for Charles Osgood on The Osgood File.

Bart Tessler, Westwood One’s EVP News and Talk, said “From thought provoking commentary to satire and entertainment, Dave Ross is the best of what radio is. Westwood One and his affiliates congratulate Dave on 25 years of great programming and we look forward to much more.”

Dave Ross commented, “Every day I face a blank screen and think, this will be the commentary that will finally make sense of it all. I had no idea it would take more than 25 years!”

After four years as a reporter at WSB, Atlanta, Ross joined KIRO Radio in 1978 as a news anchor and started hosting his own talk show in 1987. In 2012 he took over as host of “Seattle’s Morning News with Dave Ross” from 6-9 am.

As a reporter, Ross has covered breaking news and events around the world, including live broadcasts from Baghdad after the Iraq War, the 9-11 attacks at Ground Zero, the Pope’s historic trip to Great Britain and Argentina in 1982, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the revolution in Czechoslovakia in 1989, the first Gulf War, the Yeltsin revolution in Moscow in 1991, the Rodney King riots in LA, the Intifada in 2002, and many more national and international stories. He has been recognized with a Marconi nomination and the 2001, 2005, 2008, and 2011 Edward R. Murrow Awards for Commentary.

Dave also got a close-up look at life as a politician when he ran for Congress in 2004.

Off duty, Dave is familiar to Seattle audiences as a performer with the Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society, and on Seattle Radio Theatre’s live broadcasts, most recently in “A Christmas Carol” (Scrooge) and “Miracle on 34th Street” (Kris Kringle).
