The Podcast is a Joint Production between Westwood One and Entercom

New York, NY, September 13, 2018 – Westwood One, the largest audio network in the U.S., is launching a new original podcast with wildly-popular CBS SPORTS RADIO personality Jim Rome and former NFL defensive lineman Trevor Pryce.

RPO (Rome Pryce Opinion, a play on Run, Pass, Option) will feature Rome and Pryce’s opinionated take on the events and activities of the 2018-2019 NFL season and offer insight on how an NFL player may be experiencing the season as it unfolds. The program launched on Monday, September 10 and new episodes of this 20-week series will drop every Monday during the NFL season through Super Bowl LIII. The episodes will be available on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Entercom’s app, CBS Sports Radio’s website, and the Westwood One Podcast Network website and app.

“Jim and Trevor will engage listeners with their authentic voices and insights beyond the games during this NFL season,” said Suzanne Grimes, Executive Vice President, Marketing for Cumulus Media and President, Westwood One. “Jim Rome is a king of Sports talk and one of the leading opinion-makers of his generation. His legions of passionate fans, known as ‘clones,’ know and respect that he doesn’t hold back.”

“I have always worked alone but when the opportunity to work with a two-time Super Bowl winner and a presence like Trevor Pryce presented itself, I jumped,” said Rome. “He’s hungry, fearless and has takes for days. This one is a no-brainer and I know it’s going to deliver.”

Jim Rome is known for his aggressive, informed, rapid-fire dialogue. He has established himself as the top choice of athletes and fans when it’s time to know what’s happening beyond the scoreboard. Rome’s nationally syndicated radio program, The Jim Rome Show, a.k.a. The Jungle, airs on more than 200 radio stations Monday-Friday from 12 noon – 3 pm ET and boasts more than two million listeners. But these are no ordinary listeners; they are a legion of fans known as the clones who live and breathe for Rome’s “take” on the day’s larger issues of sports. It is his departure from conventional sports commentary that has resulted in Rome’s unique dialogue with his listeners. The Jim Rome Show is simulcast on CBS Sports Network, distributed in 70 million households, and can also be heard on SiriusXM.

This is Rome’s fifth year as a contributor with CBS-TV’s NFL on CBS programming. He also hosted Jim Rome on Showtime for four years. In addition, Rome has made cameo appearances alongside Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey in Two For The Money, Adam Sandler in The Longest Yard, and opposite Michael Jordan in Space Jam. He also appeared in a Blink 182 music video and released a CD, “Welcome to the Jungle,” which features memorable sound bites from frequent callers and music regularly used on the radio show.

Trevor Wesley Pryce II is a former NFL player who played 14 seasons in the NFL as a defensive lineman and is currently an author. Pryce played college football for the University of Michigan before transferring to Clemson University. He decided to forgo his senior season to enter the NFL draft. He was selected by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft. He played with the Denver Broncos, the Baltimore Ravens, and the New York Jets before retiring in 2011. In 2009, although no longer a member of the franchise, Pryce was named to the Broncos’ 50th Anniversary Team.

In 2013 Pryce began a second career as a professional writer, publishing the first of his young adult series Kulipari: An Army of Frogs, with co-writer Joel Naftali. The series was adapted in 2016 into an original animated series, Kulipari: An Army of Frogs, by Netflix. Pryce continues to author more novels based off the animated series today.
